Program Description

Computer science is a subject related to almost every contemporary intellectual discipline, the arts (computer-generated art, verification of historical documents, syntax study of languages including translation, etc.), social sciences (correlating experimental data, simulation, artificial intelligence studies), natural sciences (has always had application in this area), business and government (the largest single groups of users), education (computer-aided instruction, artificial intelligence), medicine, etc.

Information Technology (IT) is defined by the Information Technology Association of America (ITAA) as the study, design, development, implementation, support or management of computer-based information system, particularly software applications and computer hardware. IT deals with the use of electronic computers and computer software to covert, store, protect, manage, transmit and retrieve data, securely.

This program provides the necessary skills and knowledge to work/design/participate within organizations that manage large amount of data and provide services to a large number of users. Students will develop skills and knowledge in Information Technologies, Management practices and Organizations, with the required fundamentals of Computer Science.

The Computer Science department offers a sound and complete education in Computer Science, supplemented by opportunities to join the research groups of our faculty. Numerous students have gone forward to graduate studies or to good jobs. We also offer a friendly atmosphere, with opportunities to socialize with faculty and fellow students. All the faculty maintain an open-door policy in both academic and non-academic matters, and student's are encouraged to participate in the Computer Science Club.

Minimum Level of Education Required: Grade 12 / High School

Min GPA: 80.0% Convert grades

English Proficiency Requirements:

For direct admission, applicant must be from an English speaking country or meet either of the following English test scores:

Min TOEFL iBT: 90 (Min Reading: 1.0, Min Writing: 1.0, Min Listening: 1.0, Min Speaking: 1.0)

Min IELTS overall: 6.5 (Min Reading: 6.5, Min Writing: 6.5, Min Listening: 6.5, Min Speaking: 6.5)

Min Duolingo English Test Score: 115

For conditional admission, instead of submitting language proficiency test scores, applicant may complete English courses prior to the academic program. The length of the English course is determined based on the applicant's level of English proficiency.
